This review is from LG WT5101HW :I’m disgusted. Bought this washer after doing diligent research. My #1 Priority was the ability to scrub in heat AND even have a heat rinse choice (no longer found in agitator washers!) This washer has many cycles that can be set for heat wash and heat rinse, however I simply get cold water at 72 degrees. (specs say heat should be 90 degrees) Not on my machine..

And after I do a cold wash, the water temp is additionally 72 degree, therefore clearly there is a haul. LG says there is no fix for this, which “the machine is performing as it should”. appears to me that this can be a case of consumer fraud to sell a machine that gives heat temp cycles that are identical temp as the cold cycles…

Hubby is a plumber therefore install went flawlessly. we’ve got plenty of hot water into the laundry area (comes in at 158 degrees), therefore no problems with low temp. it is the machine. It appears that LG has deliberately set this washer to a cool wash and calling it “warm”. And their plan of a heat rinse is perfectly cool!

I’ve solely done concerning 7 loads, making an attempt completely different cycles and temp selections. it would be awesome if it worked, however mine doesn’t. I’ve also currently discovered tons of complaints concerning this same drawback on different websites, and some individuals don’t even get hot water. (I do, however i need warm!)

When I noticed that the clear glass high wasn’t fogging up like it did during a hot/cold “Bright Whites” cycle, I called LG and they had me hold the phone up to the “Smart Diagnosis” button & said I had a haul & needed repair (brand new machine!) This specific cycle was set on Cotton/Normal with hot/cold for temp selected, however the water solely got up to 72 degrees, consistent with the reading the rep got via the information sent over the phone to LG. My heat cycles also scan at 72 degrees. And cold also at 72 degrees.

Besides the dearth or hot or heat water, I told the rep that the bleach didn’t dispense. (I understand it flushes the dispenser twice & water can stay in dispenser, however the dispenser had clorox in it after the cycle finished; I stuck my finger in the liquid to confirm it was simply water, and my finger came out slimy and thick with splashless Clorox bleach, therefore obviously no dispensing occurred.

Yesterday, over two weeks later, the repair guy came with new parts (Mother Board) &, after spending over two hours, came out to tell me he put in the new parts, however that I “wouldn’t be happy”, as a result of the water still solely gets to 73 degrees, adding “there’s nothing more” he may do, adding that the washer is “functioning as it should”. HUH? His reply to the cool heat water was “maybe LG keeps the warm temp low to induce an honest energy rating”. And off he went.. I called LG to complain and asked to talk to a tech, solely to seek out out that the techs don’t seem to be allowed to talk to customers, solely repair individuals. Too dangerous the repair man didn’t tell me this before he left as i’d have asked him to decision whereas i used to be standing by…

So, after the repair man left, I did another load on the COTTON/NORMAL cycle, and this point the water was hotter, however far from one hundred twenty degrees. however heat cycles still 72 degrees.

Not positive the bleach dispenser is working as I solely used 1/4 cup of bleach with this load, therefore i can not stick my finger down way enough to check if it’s still in there, however it smells strongly like bleach, so that is likely still an issue.

There are some things seriously wrong with this washer. i can not suggest it to anyone, unless you want to play the sport I do. I add buckets of hot water to the tub to heat up the water. That works for the washing, however I simply can’t stick around to do this to induce my heat rinse, that is why I bought the machine! (Otherwise i’d have stuck to an agitator machine as all have solely cold rinses currently and that i may have saved $500!)

LG also can’t seem to consider itself as to what constitutes “warm water”. the primary rep said heat is in the low 90′s . Today’s rep put me on hold solely to come back back with a replacement “range” for heat, betweens 70-90 degrees. i used to be also told that Cold is sixty six and Hot is one hundred twenty. after I asked concerning the twenty degree vary for heat, he said “it’s simply a range”. Huh? therefore as a result of 73 degrees falls in that “range”, it’s fine? that’s how LG currently gets away with the dearth of heat – by changing the specs to the present new range? (so this can be why the repair guy said the machine is functioning properly…now i buy it…!) the primary rep said nothing about a vary, and he or she ordered the repair as a result of heat is supposed to be 90 degrees, however currently 72 degrees is deemed acceptable as it falls in the “range”.

I assume LG modified their heat temp to a “range” over the previous few weeks as a result of they recognize they need a haul they cannot fix & they are obtaining tons of calls. I wasn’t born yesterday; my 1st machine was that fabulous Maytag of the first 1970′s. » Read more..
