GoPro HD HERO2

Fast Summary:
Hero2 is clearly better than the authentic HD Hero in several areas. The cost difference is justifiable although $300 has been bit a lot of for my wallet. I am still satisfied with the obtain. If you might be choosing among Original HD Hero and Hero2, I would certainly get Hero2 for better low light efficiency. I wouldn’t normally use this camera for photos just like point and shoot digital camera unless there is certainly lots associated with light and steady mount to consider time-lapse pictures.

Pros Within the Original HD Hero:
* low light. Especially at 60fps in low gentle, I see huge difference.
* Video is crisper. I am not sure about 2X even though.
* Automobile White balance is way better in low light.
* The actual Running DIRECTED light around the back part. I usually do not care about the top and bottom types.
* Movement is clearer and much less motion blur due to faster shutter speed I believe.
* Automobile Exposure is more accurate.
* Enhanced dynamic variety. I observe good fine detail in darkness areas.
* Config LCD is simpler to use.
* 120fps!
* I will use the identical protective cases and supports on Hero2.
* Along with other neat characteristics like 10fps photos plus more.

Pros Over Other Motion Cameras just like Contour HD series, Tachyon HD series, Bullet HD series, Midland XTC sequence, and Or Scientific ATC-9K
* The majority of action video cameras use microSD card which is little higher priced and an easy task to lose. GoPro stays with Full Facts. That is fantastic!
* There are other action cameras which can be on par with all the original HD, but this Hero2 is one step in front of other competitors. There tend to be no much better action cameras with regards to video top quality than Hero2 by 11/10/2011.
* So far as I have seen videos associated with other products, Hero2 handles the most effective in large contrast scene and low light.
* Moving shutter concern seems well controlled in comparison to other video cameras.

Temporary Cons (Gopro says a fresh firmware will fix the following items):
* Absolutely no support for 127º and 90º FOV at 720P even though that has been specified.
* 3D is not supported but.

Cons:
* Flimsy battery cover.
* Created quality is good, but for $300, they are capable of doing better IMO.
* Absolutely no in-camera coverage adjustments just like Contour HD.
* Config LCD is preferable to the authentic, but it is still hard to adjust.
* Absolutely no underwater lens or circumstance option which fixes the particular underwater blur concern directly through Gopro. There are third party options available, but they’re not best. They tend to be either too big or possess vignetting at 170º. If GoPro is putting under the sea footage on their boxes as well as the promo-videos, they must provide some type of underwater answer.
* 120fps is fantastic, but you will need lots associated with light. Well I assume we realized that.
* As we know, this is not an indoor camera. Even even though video is very good indoor, photos tend to be pretty raucous and blurry due to use associated with slow shutter speed. For time-lapse motion pictures, slow shutter and motion blur tend to be welcome even though.
* Audio is still the exact same OK quality since the Original HD Hero. There can be a stereo microphone stand jack, but to make use of it, we must buy one more special case which has a opening on the side.
* Value. There tend to be no additional action/wearable cameras better than Gopro HD Hero2 currently, so the purchase price can be justified. However, when I examine Panasonic TS3 at $260 along with metal body, GPS, and all the other features, huh… this can be a pretty costly plastic camera which has only a couple of buttons through China. I believe the revenue margin on this camera is huge!

Wish record:
* Regular 1/4″ 20tpi thread around the body will be nice.
* Various color physiques. It is not a big deal, but I’d like it in black or perhaps camu for hunting and fishing.
* Electric or Software Image Stabilization: I observe other cheaper video cameras have this feature. Any action cameras with out it disparately will need image sits firmly, so viewers don’t get motion sickness.
* A tiny Built-in LCD for liveview and playback will be nice. The LCD Backpac makes the digital camera too heavy.
* Would like to know how you can shoot and edit any video such as the Hero2 promotional video!

Non-scientific Check:
I compared the original GoPro HD Hero@1080P/127º and Hero2@1080P/170º towards Nikon D7000@1080P along with 8mm Fisheye lens@F3. 5 in low gentle condition. Original GoPro couldn’t capture a lot of the low gentle scene. GoPro Hero2 got it fine, but it absolutely was bit noisier than D7000. Assuming D7000 has jerky motion at 24fps, overall We liked Hero2′s color rendition better than D7000.Please visit here for related content
